Mengawali karier di LeIP sebagai peneliti magang pada 2021, Mentari melanjutkan keterlibatannya dalam penelitian dan advokasi independensi peradilan sebagai peneliti paruh waktu pada 2022. Keterlibatan Mentari dalam kerja penelitian dan advokasi tersebut berlanjut hingga ia menjadi peneliti tetap di LeIP pada akhir 2022 hingga sekarang.

Dalam perjalanan kariernya di LeIP, Mentari terlibat dalam beberapa program riset, di antaranya riset terkait justice collaborator, whistleblower, dan perlindungan saksi pada pertengahan 2022, riset lanjutan restorative justice (RJ) bersama Konsorsium RJ pada akhir 2022, dan riset demarkasi pelanggaran teknis yudisial dan non-teknis yudisial oleh hakim pada 2022-2023. Selain riset, Mentari juga terlibat dalam kerja pemantauan peradilan, di antaranya pemantauan seleksi calon hakim agung pada tingkat seleksi Komisi Yudisial dan fit and proper test oleh DPR, dan pemantauan persidangan pada 2022 terhadap kasus pelanggaran HAM berat di Paniai, Papua yang terjadi pada 2014. Di samping itu, pada 2021, Mentari terlibat sebagai rapporteur pada salah satu panel dalam workshop “Development of Environmental Democracy and Public Participation in Natural Resources Management” yang diselenggarakan oleh LeIP bekerja sama dengan Kedutaan Norwegia.

Lulus sebagai S1 Hukum dari Sekolah Tinggi Hukum Indonesia Jentera pada 2022 dengan peminatan konstitusi dan legisprudensi, Mentari memiliki ketertarikan pada isu gender dan hubungan antar-lembaga negara. Ketertarikan pada isu tersebut ditunjukkan di antaranya dengan tulisan tugas akhir magang di LeIP pada 2021, yang berlanjut menjadi topik skripsi program S1 Hukum di Jentera pada 2022, yaitu membaca putusan pengadilan pada kasus Baiq Nuril dengan feminist legal method. Selain itu, Mentari juga memiliki beberapa publikasi berkaitan dengan isu gender dan demokrasi, yaitu “Mengoptimalkan Zipper System Keterwakilan Perempuan” (Rumah Pemilu, 2021) dan “Empowered women against corruption: A case study of Cadres Posyandu Rumpin Village in responding to money politic” (Jurnal Integritas KPK, 2023). Sedangkan, dalam ketertarikannya pada isu hubungan antar-lembaga negara, Mentari terlibat pada kerja asistensi Tim Penghubung-Ahli MA dan KY pada 2023.

Starting off her career in LeIP as an intern researcher in 2021, Mentari continues her involvement in research and advocacy for independent judiciary as a part-time researcher in 2022. Her involvement persists until she becomes a permanent researcher in LeIP by the end of 2022 until now.

During her career in LeIP, Mentari is involved in several research projects, they are research on justice collaborator, whistleblower, and witness protection in the mid of 2022, further research on restorative justice (RJ) with the Indonesian RJ Consortium in the end of 2022, and research on the demarcation of judicial misconduct and legal error in 2022-2023. Besides doing research, Mentari is also involved in court monitoring, which consists of activities of observation on the selection of candidates of supreme court judges on the level of Judicial Commission selection and fit and proper test by Indonesian House of Representatives, and observation in 2022 on the series of trials of gross human rights violation case taken place in Paniai, Papua back in 2014. Other than that, in 2021, Mentari was involved as a rapporteur in a panel in the “Development of Environmental Democracy and Public Participation in Natural Resources Management” workshop which was conducted by LeIP in partnership with the Norway Embassy in Indonesia.

Graduated as a Bachelor of Laws from Indonesia Jentera School of Law in 2022 with specified constitutional law classes, Mentari carries certain interests in the issues of gender and relations between state institutions. Her interests are shown in her final internship assignment in LeIP back in 2021, continued as her undergraduate thesis in 2022, which is analyzing a court decision on the case of Baiq Nuril with feminist legal methods. Besides that, Mentari also has some publications related to the topic of gender and democracy, they are “Mengoptimalkan Zipper System Keterwakilan Perempuan” (Rumah Pemilu, 2021) and “Empowered women against corruption: A case study of Cadres Posyandu Rumpin Village in responding to money politic” (Jurnal Integritas KPK, 2023). In addition to that, in her interest of relations between state institutions, Mentari is involved in assisting the Bridging Expert Team of the Indonesian Supreme Court and Judicial Commission in 2023.
